I grew up in Stroud in Gloucestershire in the 1980's and attended Marling Grammar School (an all boys school) until 1998. After completing my A-levels I moved to London and worked for some time in theatres in the West End as a lighting engineer, before starting work at Equinox Discotheque in Leicester Square as a lightjockey in early 1999. Here I learnt the basics of DJing (mainly in order to cover DJ's who were too busy at the bar!), and developed a passion for the music and the way it affected the crowd.
In late 2000 having worked for various "First Leisure" venues, I left Equinox to start work at @mosphere in Luton, as a lighting engineer. I soon started playing a warm up set every night, and my DJing skills soon improved, under the watchful eye of the resident DJ *Huggie*. On leaving @mosphere in 2002 (then called Space) I worked at the London Hippodrome for a while, again as a lighting engineer, as well as Brannigans in Luton where I was able to warm up every evening before the DJ arrived, and organise entertainment in the usual Brannigans style!
